How Will Healthcare Reform Affect Holistic Practitioners? Naturopaths, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, Health Coaches

Do you know how Obama Care will affect holistic health practitioners like naturopaths, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and health coaches?

I was talking to my friend who runs an insurance agency last weekend. He said predictions are that premiums will be going up, partly because a flood of newly insured people is expected. This increase is likely to drive claims and premiums up. Co-pays and deductibles are probably going to increase.

Also, Obama Care mentions complementary, alternative medicine and integrative healthcare in different sections throughout the law.  How it will be implemented is not clear yet.

So what does that mean for holistic health practitioners like you–how will that affect you?  The good news is that people are more likely to seek healthcare that will save costs – ones that will take care of their problem, rather than just put a bandaid on it like conventional medicine does.  This means that people will look to alternative options that help get to the root of the issue.  It can mean more interest in holistic care from practitioners like you.

The bad news is that as holistic health options become more sought after, there will be more competition among practitioners to get patients/clients’ attention.  For example, there isn’t a good infrastructure currently for people to search online for holistic practitioners.  But in the soon-to-be-future, I predict that will be made available as holistic health options become of more interest to the general public.  Especially if insurance pays for some of your services.  When that happens, how will patients make the decision of who to choose?

Do you stand out from your competition, or do patients wonder why they should see you vs. someone else?  The good part about standing out now before all these changes in healthcare reform happen is that you will have established a consistent client base before you have even more competition.  After Obama Care takes into effect, the practitioners who have built a solid base of consistent cash-paying clients/patients will have an edge over those who are still taking insurance.

If you already primarily have a cash-based practice –this is your chance to really stand out and get a flood of patients if you take advantage of this change that is inevitable in our healthcare system.  Now’s the time to be found and get known as the go-to-expert.

Do you know exactly what to do to position yourself as the go-to expert in your area in your field?

Or do you currently struggle with getting consistent patients/clients?  If this is something you want help with, learn and follow the Consistent Clients Formula for holistic practitioners.  It’s the solid foundation to a consistent 6-figure practice.
