3 Secrets to Fill Your Talks and Workshops and Double Your Client Base in 48 Days


What is the quickest way to double your clients AND credibility in the next 48 days?  Hint:  There’s only one other way that’s as good as this way. 

It’s not going to another networking event, standing in front of a booth and losing another Saturday of your life, or putting a deal out there on Groupon.

It’s not getting yourself out there on social media, investing in a better website, or trying ad after ad that doesn’t get the results you were hoping for.

It’s doing talks. The only other way to establish credibility as easily is through referrals, because it can bypass the need for you to market yourself well.  But if referrals are not happening fast enough for you, then consider doing talks.

Mistake #1:  Giving an informative talk, but not having a proven way to turn the audience into paying clients/patients. Ready for this mistake to be a thing of the past?

Secret #1.  Design a talk that inspires potential clients to:

        1. naturally decide to book with you on the spot, or
        2. do something that will lead to booking with you on the spot.

All without being pushy.

The key is to create a strategically designed talk that leads to more clients, not like a lecture you may put together for school. On the flip side, have you ever listened to a talk, and it was such great information…but then at the end, it felt like the speaker was just trying to sell you something?

Let’s face it—you don’t like it when someone’s pushy.  And it’s not a good feeling to come across as being pushy.  Don’t worry…breathe a sigh of relief that you don’t have to be someone like that.  There is a way to give a talk that is both informative AND inspires people to book with you on the spot (it’s something I’ve personally dedicated the last several years to mastering and you can do it too).

Mistake #2:  Wasting your time speaking at the wrong places.

I can still remember one talk I did where I had spent all this time getting people together for it.  While I was giving it, I was happy with it but afterwards, I felt rather discouraged.  People told me it was a great talk, but the number of clients I got from it (and my bank account) sure didn’t seem to reflect that.  I started to doubt myself and my abilities as a speaker.  I thought…what can I do? Maybe this talk just doesn’t work for my audience and maybe I need to change up my talk.

But then came the unexpected.   I turned around and did the same talk in front of a different audience that was referred to me.  I had the highest conversions to clients I’ve ever had from that talk. Sometimes it’s the wrong places you’re speaking at, not your talk that’s the main issue. Are you giving your talks at places like your local health food store, or are you going where most of your favorite clients would be at?

    Great advice! I seem to be in limbo because what I have to offer at the talk is not ready yet. I seem to spend all my time building my ezine, writing articles and blogs, seeing clients, preparing for and marketing my educational talks to my list and trying to grow my list–and don’t have much time for developing the product I eventually want to offer at the end of my talk. So that means I need to hire an assistant and I am in the process of doing that and that takes time as well, interviewing, hiring, training. So the answer is there and your advice is wonderful–just got to get through this time period of transition. Thanks for all you do!

      It does take a lot of time to build everything, doesn’t it? Good for you for being in the process of hiring an assistant. Whenever possible, focus just on your top 2 marketing strategies…so you can do less work but actually get more clients. And when you get to the point where you can hire parts of that out, do it as soon as possible. 🙂 Keep me posted.
