“Initially, I wasn’t getting patients and so I wasn’t getting known and people didn’t understand what it is that I did and why they should come see me. I mostly was frustrated that I was trying all the conventional things that you do. You join the chamber, you join this group, you join that group and you try and put yourself out there but things were just not landing. I just wasn’t comfortable in that environment. I just wasn’t getting where I needed to be.
I think the turning point moment for me was when I decided that I needed help flowing things in, reigning things in and kind of getting directed. There was a lot of hesitation because you know I was a new practice and money is a big deal and putting it out there, was a huge investment.

“I had been an associate in this one practice for almost 3 years and after winter school break, I had seen probably the lowest number of patients ever since I started this practice. It was really frustrating to me because I thought I was giving really good care to my patients.

“When I first started practicing I just thought that things will just naturally build over time as I see more patients and they will keep referring other people to me and it will all just kind of fall into place. I was very naïve when I first got into business at that time. That is definitely not how it went for me, there was a slow-building but then we hit sort of a limit.
