3 Ways to Change Your Mood with Aromatherapy
Whether you are wound up after a busy week at work or enjoying some downtime on your day off, aromatherapy can help turn around a negative mood or amplify a positive one. The properties of natural plants and oils have a healing affect on both mental and physical symptoms. It’s quick and easy to start using aromatherapy throughout your day.
Here are 3 ways to change your mood or health naturally with aromatherapy:
Invigorate your mind with a fresh mint spray. Combine 1/2 cup of water with 10 drops of peppermint essential oil, 5 drops lemon essential oil, 5 drops orange essential oil, and 2 tbsp orange flower water in a spray bottle. Shake and spray around the room for a quick pick-me-up.
Settle your stomach with a ginger/citrus lotion. Stress can lead to unpleasant digestive issues. Soothe stomach troubles by combining 2 oz unscented white lotion, 10 drops of ginger essential oil, 2 drops grapefruit essential oil, and 4 drops lemon essential oil and applying to the abdomen as needed.
Relax with a lavender-infused bath. Treat yourself to a calming bath before bed. Mix in about 10 drops of lavender essential oil to the water right before you get in. Give yourself at least 10-20 minutes to soak and destress.
